Presentation of Foča-Ustikolina

Foča-Ustikolina was formed in 1998 from parts of the previous Municipality of Foča that remained in the Federation after the Dayton Peace Accords.
Fishing and river tourism are the basis of the modern development of the municipality. The Turhan Emin-Beg's mosque, claimed to be the first mosque erected in Bosnia and Herzegovina, was entirely destroyed by the Serbs in the 1990s; in its place a new mosque was built, which is claimed to have the tallest minaret in the Balkan.

Flag of Foča-Ustikolina

The symbols of Foča-Ustikolina are prescribed by Decision Odluka usvajanju grba i zastave Općine Foča-Ustikolina (text), adopted on 17 November 2003 by the Municipal Assembly and published on 15 January 2004 in the Canton official gazette Službeni novine Bosansko-podrinjskog kantona Goražde, no. 1.

The flag is in proportions 1:2, horizontally divided green-white-red with the coat of arms in the middle.

The coat of arms is "vert a dome ensigned with three corn ears, in chief two wavy lines and in base two irregular wavy stripes all argent".
Although the Decision clearly describes three lines in the chief, the drawings usually show only two. The dome is that of the Turhan Emin-Beg's mosque. The wavy lines represent river Drina, the stalks corn production and processing in the municipality, and the two wavy stripes in the base stand for the ancient caravan routes and modern roads passing though.
