Jagstzell Coat of Arms

The shield has a blue base, superimposed by a silver (= white) trout. In the golden (= yellow) main field is a red chapel with windows black and a wall, five towers and a closed door. A nun is looking outside from the top of the front wall. Please note that within source the trout is spotted red.
Meaning:
The settlement on the banks of the little river Jagst developped beneath a small nuns' monastery, also called a cell. The monastery existed until 1170. The arms are canting, the chapel is representing the monastery and the blue base with fish is representing the river Jagst.

The banner was approved on 13 November 1980 by the county administration, published in GABl 232/1981. The coat of arms was adopted between 1928 and 1930.
