Allendorf Coat of Arms

Shield parted enhanced per chevron, above Argent, beneath Vert, charged with an ash twig Argent with five leaves in base and two connected barrulets indented point in point of Azure, Or, Gules and Argent.
Meaning:
The line of partition is representing the "Holy Mountain" (German: Heiliger Berg), located close to the municipality. The inhabitants have close relationships to that mountain. Due to tradition St. Boniface had preached on the top of that mountain. The barrulets are representing the most important goods, which had been dismounted in Allendorf: cobalt, sulphure, iron ore and plaster stone. The barrulets together with the line of partition form an "A", the initial of the municipality's name. The twig is representing the former Aschau Municipality and is taken from the local seal, which displayed a tree since 1848. It is assumed that the tree had been a canting ash.
