Description of coat of arms:
In a red shield is a golden (= yellow) tankard with closure head and arched handle.
Meaning:
Königheim was part of the Bishopric of Mainz until 1802. It gained municipal rights, which had been fixed in a document in 1442. Since then it had a seal and a banner as well. The oldest seal of Königheim was already mentioned in the 15th century. It already showed the tankard, a canting element meaning 'Kennichen' (German: Kännchen, i.e. little tankard). The tankard as coat of arms appeared in architectural sculptures in 1499 and 1707 (town hall).
