Description

This website promotes the linguistic and cultural self-awareness and self-esteem of the speakers of the Eo-Navia contact dialects, an intermediate form halfway between the Gallician-Portuguese group and the Asturian-Leonese group; they call it Galician-Asturian language (llingua galaicoasturiana).

These dialects are spoken in the area between the rivers Eo and Navia, in parts of the municipal territories of Castropol, Navia (misspelt in FotW-ws?), Meira, Noceda and Villafranca del Bierzo.

The (proposed?, used?) flag representing these dialects and their speakers can be seen here (direct link); it is blue with a yellow saltire. This design is (though perhaps inadvertently) also a compromise, or a blend, of the two regional flags concerned: a yellow cross on blue for Galicia (whose flag indeed started as a saltire).

The saltire charged with the inscription “Eo Navia“ set in black serif capitals: “E“ in the upper hoist, “VIA“ in the upper fly, "NA“ in the lower hoist and "O“ in the lower fly. These letters are depicted upright in the source image, but I guess they are supposed to be set on a slanted line . (Indeed I'd hope the lettering is not supposed to appear in actual flags!)
