Examples of "patchwork" flags

The flag shown above was photographed a couple of years ago outside the city hall at Chalonnes-sur-Loire (France). It seems to be no longer present there.

The design of this flag consists of a checker of 4x4 national flags of European countries, plus the European Union flag, arranged the following way:

European Union	Italy	United Kingdom	Austria
The Netherlands	Sweden	Spain	Greece
Denmark	Germany	France	Portugal
Ireland	Switzerland	Luxembourg	Belgium

The parcel service company Montigny Services flies at least two copies of another "patchwork" European flag over their headquarters, located in La Forêt-sur-Sèvre (Poitou).

The composition of the patchwork is the following:

European Union	Portugal	Germany	France
Belgium	The Netherlands	Finland	Spain
Luxembourg	Sweden	Austria	Ireland
Denmark	Italy	Greece	United Kingdom

This patchwork is more "European" than the first one, which shows Switzerland instead of Finland. Moreover, it has a white border all around.
