The National Coordination for the Reduction of Disasters (Coordinadora para
la Reducción de Desastres - CONRED) was initiated in 1969 as the National
Committee of Emergency (Comité Nacional de Emergencias – CONE).
The CONRED
was established by Decree No. 109 issued in 1996.
