See also:Chhota Udaipur had a very distinctive flag: on a scarlet field the crest of
the coat of arms, consisting of an armed right hand holding a broken sword,
emerging from a black mural crown. That crown reminds of the taking of the
fortress of Pawagadh by Mahmud Shah in 1482 and the following killing of Pataei
Rawal. This state was just east of Baroda (nowadays Vadodara) in Gujarat state.
Pawagadh means: "quarter of a hill", believed to have been part of the Himalaya
carried off by the monkey god Hanuman.
