Located in Kyoto City Kyoto Prefecture and established in 1965.
The embroidered ceremonial flag has blue background with a silver, gold and blue old university emblem in gold fringe.
The university flag is a blue vertical long flag with a white university emblem. The emblem of the university features the constellation Sagittarius, which is based on the Greek myth of Chiron, the half-breed sage, with the word "大學" below it. The image of the stars running freely and unrestrainedly through the vast and boundless universe represents the hope of young people who will soar into the world in the new era. The old university emblem is a combination of the figure of Chiron the Wise and Chinese characters 大學.
