About the flag

The flag is (again and boringly) typical: quarterly divided white over a reddish purple (so called wine color, I suppose the official documentation simply say "purple"), and with a typical coat of arms in the centre: 4-towered mural crown, scroll reading "ANADIA" and a black shield with a weirdly stylized vine in (somewhat) natural colours.
Jorge Candeias, 13 Jul 1998

The meaning of this coat of arms is simple: Anadia belongs to a natural region known as Bairrada, famous in Portugal through it’s wines and the way the cook pork. So, the only thing missing in the coat of arms is a piglet.
