Shield Or, a castle Gules with three embattled towers, masoned Sable with port and windows of the same, in chief a scallop Gules. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank)and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "BEJA - SANTIAGO MAIOR".
Meaning:
The scallop is an attribute of St. James the Elder, the local patron saint. The red castle is taken from the municipal arms.

Shield Azure, a fess embattled on top and masoned Azure with port of the same, in chief a Paschal Lamb passant Or, in base an eagle Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "BEJA - S. JOÃO BAPTISTA".
Meaning:
The Paschal Lamb, here bearing a red labarum with white cross, is an attribute of St. John the Baptist, the local patron saint. The eagle is alluding to Beja municipality. The embattled fess probably is symbolizing a local fortification.
