The Flag

From the site of Ukrainian Heraldry:
"Rectangular blue panel with a parity of sides as 2:3, in the centre is yellow head of a lion en face, under it is yellow key, on the parties in the top corners are yellow bells."
"The district covers the L'viv territory from the east, south and west. Among the most interesting settlements of this region are villages Zvenyhorod (the centre of an old specific princedom), Stare Selo ("Old Village") with ancient castle ruins, and settlement Schyrets' (with the former fortress)."

From the site of Ukrainian Heraldry:
"It was confirmed in March, 23nd, 2004 by the decision of region council session. Azure; head of a lion en face or, under it is horseshoe ears up argent on which is key or with bit below. Supporters: lion or with a key and a griffin argent with a bell or. The shield enframed by or cartouche and crowned by or territory crown. Under the board is tape azure with inscription "Pustomytovs'kyi region" or. The author is A.Grechylo.
The head of a lion specifies that the region is near L'viv, the horseshoe designates character of region which rounds the regional centre, and the key strengthens this value (it also is a historical symbol of Schyrets'). Bells personify the Zvenyhorods'ke princedom. Tenant lion underlines that the region is located on L'viv land, and the griffin designates historical traditions.
