The pears in the flag are certainly canting, as the name is
derived from the Ukrainian word for pear.
Željko Heimer, 7 March 2004
The flag is horizontally divided. The upper field, twice
higher than the lower field, is vertically divided red-green, the
green stripe being twice wider than the red one, and therefore
square. The red stripe is charged with a yellow wheat spike
placed vertically, whereas the green square is charged with three
yellow pears placed 2 + 1 with two white leaves each. The lower
field is blue with four white wavy lines.

three or pears. In the third azure field are four argent wavy
fesses. The arms is edged by decorative cartouche and decorated
by a rural crown. Or pears symbolize fruits from which village
has received the name."

If I am not mistaken this is the village where Nikita
Khrushchev originated, or at least his family. I believe he or
his family Russified the orthography of their surname.
