Description of the flag

Quoting Ted LaBorde, "The Republican", 9 October 2007:

"The 26th annual Granville Harvest Fair, which concluded its three-day run yesterday, served as the setting for the unveiling of the community's first town flag. Granville was incorporated as a town in January 1754, and its official flag is the result of a fifth grade Granville Village School field trip last year to the State House in Boston where students learned that the town is not represented in the Great Hall where flags of other communities are on display. As a result, the community launched a design contest, under the direction of Erica C. LeFebvre, 13. Several designs were selected and residents cast ballot for their choice July 4, 2006. The design created by Erica's sister Amy K. LeFebvre, 15, a sophomore at Southwick-Tolland Regional High School, was selected.

"I just tried to include everything people know about our town on the flag," Amy said.

The first flag hangs at the school. Another one will soon hand at Town Hall, officials said. The flag, done in 27 different colors, depicts cows, ice cream, maple syrup, fruits and the town buildings. "It even includes our school mascot, the blue dragon," said Ashlyn D. Stromgren, 13, friend of the LeFebvre sisters who assisted in the coordinating the contest.
