The original Madison County flag is framed and hanging in the Madison County Historical Society Museum. The flag design includes five red stripes, four white stripes and a blue circle with 14 stars, representing each of the county's
townships. In the middle is an outline of the county with a red dot representing London, the county seat. It was made by a lady named Mabel Johnson.

Nine horizontal, slightly curving red and white stripes, a central design consisting of an outer light blue ring with 14 dark blue stars, and a central disk with a dark blue bordered light blue map of the county. A red bordered white dot probably represents the location of the county town.

This red, white and blue flag has five red stripes and four white stripes which are curved and straight. The central image is a blue map of the county with London, the county seat, marked with a white dot and red circle. The map is
surrounded by a ring of fourteen blue stars.
The county was established in 1810, and was named for the U.S. President at the time, James Madison.
