Overview

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) is a subcomponent of the US Department of Defense, headquartered at the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. DSCA is charged with training, educating, advising, and equipping foreign security services to handle mutual challenges. It was founded in 1971 as the Defense Security Assistance Agency before changing to its current name in 1998. DSCA oversees five regional research centers, including the Africa Center for Strategic Studies, the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies, the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies, the William J. Perry Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies, and the Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies. (https://www.dsca.mil/)

Founded in 1993, the DKI APCSS provides executive education to senior military and government decision-makers, and conducts research into regional and global security issues, supporting US Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM).
